Surya is the soul of the chart: vitality, confidence, authority and the father. The tradition offers Surya Graha Shanti when the Sun is weak or afflicted, and in the Sun's periods. The pandits chant Surya's mantra and offer arghya, red flowers, wheat and jaggery.
You choose how it is done. A One-day Jaap brings a team of pandits together to complete your chants in a single day. A Seven-day Anushthan has pandits chant for you alone, every day for seven days. A Mahapujan is the full ceremony on a larger scale, with havan. Every option is performed in full, in your name and gotra, by the same Vedic procedure.
