Illustration — every natural bead is different
The one-faced bead of Shiva, in its half-moon form
The tradition holds the one-faced rudraksha as the bead of Shiva himself, and links it with Surya. A round one-faced bead from Nepal is so rare that it is almost never genuinely offered; the one-faced bead people wear is the half-moon (kaju) form, from South India.
Choose the size: about 28 mm, about 34 mm, or a collector bead of 40 mm and above — larger beads are simply rarer. If you are looking for a round Nepali one-mukhi, write to us: we look for one only on request.
